The Wines of Washington and Oregon

Oregon and Washington State represent some of the last frontiers on American viticulture. These two distinct wine regions boast a great diversity of winegrowing regions. From the cool, ocean influenced regions of Oregon, known for world-class Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and especially Pinot Noir to the arid, high elevation, desert vinelands of eastern Washington where the pure, warm sunshine ripens to perfection grapes such as Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah while the cool night-time desert temperatures help retain great freshness and minerality in these elegant wines. Although a relatively young wine industry, Washington is the nation's second largest wine producer and Oregon, with its quality, single vineyard focus is giving Burgundy a run for its money in premium Pinot Noir production. Our selections of Oregon and Washington wines represent great examples of both of these emerging wine regions.
